Bushmills Distillery
A very short drive (or steam train ride) from the Giant's Causeway is the world's oldest licensed distillery, Bushmills, in the pretty village of the same name. One of the finest, and most famous, exponents of Irish malt whiskey, the distillery has been in operation since 1608. Finish off a fascinating guided tour with a smooth and luxurious 'ball of malt'.
The Giants Causeway
One of the world's most famous sights is little more than a half-an-hour's drive from Tullyglass. A World Heritage Site, the Giant's Causeway is a spectacular series of symmetrical columns jutting out into the Atlantic. Choose between the geological argument or the more popular legend of Finn McCool to explain its creation.
Carrick-A-Rede Rope Bridge (April to September)
This seemingly precarious rope bridge hangs 80 feet above the crashing waves beneath and is not recommended for the faint of heart or those suffering from vertigo. Everyone else will thrill to this extraordinary experience and marvel at the breathtaking view of the surrounding coastline too.
Glens of Antrim
Twenty minutes from Tullyglass, the Glens of Antrim have been designated as Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Composed of nine unique green valleys, they are full of wild woodland, rivers and waterfalls, as well as wonderful flora and fauna. This tranquil paradise also has close associations with Irish mythology.
